TON reaped four awards during the Autumn

The autumnal months are packed full of events for TON. Following-on from the Award for the Best Installation at the London-based Designjunction Trade-fair, our company was awarded a further three awards. The Split Collection gained a Special Mention at the German Design Award, and we bought home awards for the Best New Furniture as well as the Best Producers Installation from the Czech Designblok Exhibition.

"Of course, we are naturally delighted to have won such great joy. The international German Design Awards Special Mention is, in fact, the first prize that our new Split Collection has won,"said Jan Juza, TON´s Marketing Director. The aim of the German Design Award competition is to discover, present and reward new trends in the design field. Apart from the Split Collection, the TON portfolio has previously been awarded other new models – like the Merano, Tram, Dowel and Moritz Collections.

"As regards the Designblok Exhibition, we returned to its exhibition area after a two year pause and we are glad that we have proved that we belong among the Czech brands that deserve attention," said Juza. The Superstudio Exhibition was suggested by the creative duo Jan Plecháč and Henry Wielgus. "The inspiration was the visitors themselves. We enjoy the interaction between them and installations," said Jan Plecháč, one of the creators about their inspiration. At the start of the exhibition, the stand surface area was all white - so any of the exhibitors could later repaint it to suit their liking. "We linked this idea to a Split Chair - which is manually sprayed in a range of tints, while at the same time linking on to this year's Designblok theme, which was freedom," Juza made clear. That the installation enchanted incoming visitors, was clearly visible on the first day - where, apart from the chairs, the stand and everything else - wall, floor and all the decorations were also painted to match.
